Clear Headed Thinking for Confusing Times: Thoughts on Proverbs

For several years now, I have met for coffee and prayer with several friends of mine who are investment managers at a local investment firm. We started meeting right after the major stock market crash in 2009, and have met faithfully nearly every week since.

Each week, we get together at a local coffee shop, read scripture together, and pray. These short moments in the middle of my week have become a real bright spot in my personal life and pastoral ministry. Generally, we read through a book of Scripture together over several weeks, going a paragraph at a time.

Recently, all of us have expressed increasing amazement and concern over the lack of insight, clear thinking, and a sense of what ought to be done on the part of leaders in all stratus of society. Consequently, we have turned our attention to the book of Proverbs.

Over the next few weeks and months, I'll be posting our Proverb section of the week here at Spirit-Formed. I encourage you to join in the discussion and join us for a journey through God's timeless wisdom.
